Creativity in Science and Technology

I have been in the CREST elective since 2019 and have enjoyed it very much. CREST instructs and puts a focus on the scientific method and the practicality of a science experiment. Throughout a year of CREST, an idea of a CREST scientific experiment, that is practical, ethical and can benefit the world, is developed. After the idea has been approved, the experiment is tested to determine if the hypothesis of the experiment has been supported or not. When the experimenting trials have concluded and the results have been determined, a report is written that displays an abstract, background information of the experiment, the hypothesis, the aim, materials, method, results, discussion, conclusion and bibliography. After a CREST project has been completed, it can be entered into science-based competitions, such as Science Talent Search, and medallions, certificates, accreditations and even bursaries or cheques can be won. CREST is a subject that demands hard work and attention but gives back many awards for your efforts. Studying a year in CREST will be beneficial in the future especially if you would like to study in a field of science as your CREST studies will be acknowledged and appreciated.
